“Potential is always bigger than your problem. Walk towards your potential.”
- Michael Beckwith
We have to remember that when we focus on the potential that means we are focusing on what we want and where we want to go.
The trouble with us humans is we get stuck and mired down in the problem. If we can just see the “problem” as data for what we don’t want rather than focusing on it we can actually solve it - even if we don’t have the answer in the moment we realize the problem.
The way we can solve the problem without knowing the how or the answer in that moment is to walk towards the potential.
How many times have you had a great idea that you wanted to implement, and it was a pretty big task? I bet if you are in my orbit, it’s a bunch of times.
AND how many times has your itty bitty shitty committee piped up and shared all the reasons why it wasn’t a good idea to pursue your new awesome big goal? I bet a lot of times too.
All the stuff your itty bitty shitty committee shares with you is “the problem”. As I said, you don’t have to have an answer for them nor do you have to accept anything they say as truth for you. You can actually just take their words to you as data and that’s it.
Data that you can review and decide if it is true for you. And even if you don’t know if it is true for you - the way to feel better and start manifesting opportunities and people and circumstances that will lead you to that super, awesome, big goal is to walk towards the potential.
Meaning, start acting if you have already achieved the goal. Do all the things you can do in this moment towards that goal as if it is already on its way (because - HINT - it is!).
If you walk towards your potential your actions are telling your itty bitty shitty committee that their data is incorrect and it creates new data which can be used to grow in your goal.
So - that’s what it means to walk in the direction of the potential.
